Rui Guerra

Atleta de Alta Competição, Vice-Campeão do Mundo de Fotografia Subaquática, Campeão do Mundo na categoria Ambiente com Mergulhador e Penta-Campeão Nacional, Rui Guerra nasceu em Lisboa em Dezembro de 1968 e desde cedo que se encontra ligado ao mar, sendo junto a ele que procura o seu equilíbrio e paz interior. Como uma natural consequência dos muitos momentos em família passados no litoral, cedo desperta em si a paixão e a curiosidade pelo mundo subaquático, levando-o a iniciar-se no mergulho em apneia e mais tarde no mergulho com escafandro autónomo.

A fotografia aparece na sua vida quase que por acaso, não passando de início de “mostrar aos outros o que via debaixo de água”. Prosseguindo uma evolução constante a todos os níveis e aprofundando os seus conhecimentos, foi alargando os seus horizontes fotográficos a outros mundos, mantendo sempre, como centro da sua actividade, a fotografia subaquática. Ao longo da sua carreira, quer a nível de lazer quer a nível competitivo, em provas nacionais e internacionais, tem sistematicamente conseguido obter uma posição de destaque, fomentando simultaneamente a formação e a divulgação da fotografia subaquática em Portugal, ministrando regularmente cursos, workshops e organizando eventos. Entretanto tornou-se Instrutor de Fotografia Subaquática CMAS**. Rui Guerra é representado pela Agência Ocean-Photos. ( http://www.ocean-photos.com/ )

Praticante de kayak de mar desde 2004, efectuou diversas travessias, quer diárias quer em autonomia total.

Setembro/1998 - Participa no Campeonato Nacional de Fotografia Subaquática - “VII FOTOSUB - Tavira/98”, obtendo o 5º lugar na geral e o 3º lugar da categoria “Peixes”;

Abril/1999 – Concorre à Fotovisão’99 tendo conseguido expor uma foto entre mais de 2000 fotógrafos concorrentes;

Julho/1999 - Vencedor do concurso de fotografia subaquática patrocinado pela Citizen Promaster e pela revista “Mundo Submerso”, organizado pela Cronos- Importadora de Relógios,Lda. e subordinado ao tema "O Homem e o Meio";

Setembro/1999 - Participa no Campeonato Nacional de Fotografia Subaquática - "VIII FOTOSUB - Açores / 99", obtendo o 4º lugar da geral;

Setembro / 2001 – Participa no Campeonato Nacional de Fotografia Subaquática, X Fotosub – Sesimbra/2001, obtendo o 3º lugar da categoria “Macro”;

Outubro / 2001 – Classifica-se em 3º lugar na  competição internacional 6ºOpen Fotosub Isla d'El Hierro, Espanha, que contou com a participação de fotógrafos de 4 países;

Fevereiro / 2002,  Abril / 2002  – Menção Honrosa no V Concurso “Tempo Livre” de Fotografia do INATEL;

Outubro/2004 - Classifica-se em 3º lugar na competição internacional 8º Open Fotosub Isla D'El Hierro, Espanha, que contou com a participação de fotógrafos de 4 países;

Junho/2005 - Vencedor no IX Salão de Fotografia do Mar obtendo o Ouro na Secção de fotografia subaquática, numa competição organizada pela Federação Portuguesa de Actividades Subaquáticas (FPAS) que contou com a participação de 79 concorrentes entre fotógrafos profissionais e amadores;

Julho/2005 - Vencedor na Categoria "Macro" e terceiro lugar na Categoria de "Peixes", classificando-se em terceiro lugar no XIV Fotosub - Campeonato Nacional de Fotografia Subaquática;

Setembro/2005 - Consagra-se Vice-Campeão do Mundo de Fotografia Subaquática ao obter a medalha de prata no X Campeonato do Mundo de Fotografia Subaquática, realizado sob a égide da Confédération Mondial des Activités Subaquatiques  (CMAS), em L'Estartit, Espanha, num campeonato onde participaram 49 equipas oriundas de 25 países;

Outubro/2005 -  Nomeado pela Federação Portuguesa de Actividades Subaquáticas para receber o Prémio Mérito Desportivo Prestígio a atribuir pela Confederação do Desporto de Portugal ao Atleta Masculino do Ano;

Maio/2006 - Vencedor da 1ª Etapa do FotoDigiSub, em Sesimbra, a primeira prova de fotografia subaquática digital;

Junho/2006 - Vencedor da 2ª Etapa do FotoDigiSub, em Sines;

Junho/2006 - Vencedor do FotoDigiSub/2006;

Junho/2006 - Melhor fotógrafo nacional (segundo da geral) na competição internacional 1º Open Fotosub Graciosa/2006 que contou com a participação de fotógrafos de 3 países;

Julho/2006 -  Vencedor do XV Fotosub - Campeonato Nacional de Fotografia Subaquática, no Faial (Açores), consagrando-se Tri-Campeão Nacional de Fotografia Subaquática e obtendo igualmente as seguintes classificações nas diversas categorias:

Junho/2007 - 2º lugar no Open Internacional Fotosub Islas Medas, realizado durante o MIMA'07 (Medes, Imatge i Medi Ambient) em L'Estartit, Espanha;

Julho/2007 - Vencedor do 10º Salão de Fotografia do Mar, secção de Fotografia Subaquática, uma organização da Federação Portuguesa de Actividades Subaquáticas, com as classificações:

                    1º lugar (Ouro) - Fotografia "Palitando os dentes"

Julho/2007 - Fotógrafo convidado a participar na competição internacional 3º Fotosub Gran Canária Costa de Mogán, Espanha, que contou com a participação de fotógrafos de 7 países e onde obteve o 7º lugar da geral;

Setembro/2007 - 2º Lugar no Aquafoto/2007 realizado no interior do Aquário da Madeira, em Porto Moniz;

Setembro/2007 - Vencedor do XVI Fotosub - Campeonato Nacional de Fotografia Subaquática, realizado na Madeira, consagrando-se Tetra-Campeão Nacional de Fotografia Subaquática e obtendo ainda as seguintes classificações :

Setembro/2007 - 6º lugar na competição internacional 3º Open Fotosub Lanzarote, Espanha, com a participação de fotógrafos de 2 países;

Junho/2008 - Vencedor da prova de Sesimbra do 3º Fotodigisub / 2008;

Junho/2008 - Fotógrafo convidado a participar na competição internacional 4º Fotosub Gran Canária Costa Mogán, Espanha, que contou com a participação de 6 países;

Junho/2008 - Vencedor do Campeonato Nacional de Fotografia Subaquática -  XVII Fotosub - Graciosa / 2008, renovando o título de Campeão Nacional de Fotografia Subaquática pela quinta vez e obtendo ainda as seguintes classificações nas diversas categorias:

Junho/2009 - Consagra-se Campeão do Mundo na categoria de Grande Angular com Mergulhador durante o 12º Campeonato do Mundo de Fotografia Subaquática, sob a égide da CMAS (Confederação Mundial de Actividades Subaquáticas), que contou com a participação de 36 equipas oriundas de 20 países. Na classificação geral obteve o 5º lugar, sendo a seguinte a classificação obtida por categoria:

                 1º lugar - Categoria "Grande Angular com Mergulhador"

                 3º lugar - Categoria "Grande Angular sem Mergulhador"

Junho/2009 - Conquista o título de Campeão Regional de Fotografia Subaquática ao vencer o Campeonato Regional de Fotografia Subaquática do Continente, conseguindo ainda as seguintes classificações nas categorias:

                  1º lugar - Categoria "Grande Angular"

                  1º lugar - Categoria "Macro"

                  1º lugar - Categoria "Peixes"

Junho/2009 - Vencedor da etapa de Peniche do FotoDigiSub/2009;

Agosto/2009 - Classifica-se em 2º lugar na modalidade de Fotografia Subaquática nos Jogos Náuticos do Atlântico em Peniche;

Setembro/2009 - Conquista o título de Vice-Campeão Nacional de Fotografia Subaquática 2009, durante o XVIII Fotosub, realizado em S.Miguel, Açores,  integrado do UPA Challenge, tendo obtido ainda os seguintes lugares nas três categorias:

                  3º lugar - Categoria "Ambiente"

                  3º lugar - Categoria "Macro"

                  2º lugar - Categoria "Peixes"

Setembro/2009 - Classifica-se em 3 º lugar no 1º Open Internacional de Foto Sub dos Açores, realizado em S.Miguel e integrado do UPA Challenge;

Setembro/2009 - Vencedor no UPA Challenge - Categorias, obtendo os lugares de destaque que se seguem:

                  1º lugar - Categoria "Ambiente com Mergulhador"

Outubro/2009 - Vencedor do FotoDigiSub/2009;

Outubro/2009 - Homenageado na 14ª Gala Anual do Desporto, um evento promovido pela Confederação do Desporto de Portugal, que decorre anualmente no Casino Estoril, na sequência do seu título de Campeão do Mundo de Fotografia Subaquática na categoria de "Ambiente com Mergulhador", obtido em Jeju, Coreia do Sul, durante o Campeonato do Mundo de Fotografia Subaquática de 2009;

 

 

 

  ACÇÕES DE DIVULGAÇÃO:

 

Abril/1999 - Executa uma projecção de diapositivos no Centro Português de Actividades Subaquáticas (CPAS), sobre o Arquipélago das Berlengas, intitulada “Ilhas de Vida”;

Maio/1999 - Organiza em Sesimbra, conjuntamente com a Ináqua-Sub e a revista "Mundo Submerso", o primeiro Encontro de Fotografia Subaquática  em Portugal;

Março/2000 – A convite da Secção de Actividades Subaquáticas do Grupo Desportivo do Banco de Portugal, realiza uma palestra sobre fotografia subaquática na sede do referido Banco;

Maio/2000 - Organiza o II ENFOSUB - Encontro Nacional de Fotografia Subaquática, conjuntamente com a Ináqua-Sub e a revista "Mundo Submerso";

Fevereiro /2001 – Realiza uma projecção de slides no Clube de Actividades do Ar Livre, em Lisboa, com o título “Portugal Submerso”;

Agosto / 2001 – Realiza uma projecção de slides para crianças, na Piscina Municipal dos Olivais, sobre vida marinha, a convite do Centro Português de Actividades Subaquáticas no âmbito dum programa de ocupação de tempos livres para escolas, promovido pela Câmara Municipal de Lisboa;

Fevereiro /2003 – No âmbito do lançamento do seu livro, realiza um diaporama na FNAC do Centro Comercial Colombo sobre fotografia subaquática;

Abril / 2003 – Realiza um diaporama sobre a Ilha de El Hierro nas instalações da Cipreia;

Maio /2003 – É convidado pela Secção de Actividades Subaquáticas a realizar no auditório do Edifício Portugal, uma palestra sobre “Fotografia no azul em Portugal” e um diaporama sobre os fundos subaquáticos portugueses, ambos integrados na 9ª Festa da Cultura do Grupo Desportivo do Banco de Portugal;

Junho/2003 – Realiza em Angra do Heroísmo (Ilha Terceira – Açores), com a pintora Isabel Pecante, uma exposição de fotografia e pintura intitulada “Muito Mar...e pouca terra”, integrada nas festas Sanjoaninas/2003, com o apoio da Delegação de Turismo da Ilha Terceira, durante a qual efectua diversos diaporamas;

Julho/2003 – Participa, com diversos trabalhos, na exposição itinerante “Salão do Mar”, organizada pela Federação Portuguesa de Actividades Subaquáticas;

Fevereiro/2004 – Realiza um diaporama intitulado “Vida e Morte nas Berlengas”, nas instalações da Cipreia – Escola de Mergulho, em Lisboa;

Março/2004 – Volta a apresentar o diaporama “Vida e Morte nas Berlengas”, desta vez nas instalações do Centro Português de Actividades Subaquáticas (CPAS), em Lisboa; 

Abril/2005 - A convite da LPDM – Centro de Recursos Sociais, realiza, para o Clube Sénior, uma palestra sobre mergulho e fotografia subaquática, apresentando também o seu diaporama intitulado “Vida e Morte nas Berlengas”;

Junho/2005 - A convite do Centro Português de Actividades Subaquáticas (CPAS) apresenta o diaporama intitulado "GALÁPAGOS - Paraíso Selvagem";

Março/2006 - A convite do Departamento de Informática da Universidade de Coimbra, e integrado na VIII Semana Cultural daquela Universidade, realiza uma palestra sobre Fotografia Subaquática Digital, em representação da Federação Portuguesa de Actividades Subaquáticas (FPAS). Na mesma ocasião inaugura uma exposição de fotografia subaquática intitulada "Luz sob as Ondas";

Junho/2006 - A exposição "Luz sob as Ondas" é inaugurada na Galeria de Exposições da Livraria Bertrand no Centro Comercial Dolce Vita, em Coimbra;

Junho/2006 - A convite da Câmara Municipal de Vila do Bispo, e inserido no Festival do Mar, em Sagres, realiza de novo a sua exposição "Luz sob as Ondas";

Fevereiro/2007 - A convite da CETUS - Associação Portuguesa de Conservação de Cetáceos, participa numa exposição colectiva itinerante, intitulada "Cetáceos da Costa Portuguesa", cuja inauguração foi na Delegação de Lisboa do Instituto Português de Juventude;

Junho/2007 - A convite da Casco Antiguo Portugal, realiza na sua loja de Lisboa uma apresentação de material para fotografia subaquática digital, incluindo as caixas Patima, 10Bar e os flashes Inon e Epoque;

Setembro/2007 - Realiza uma palestra intitulada "Fotografia Subaquática de Competição" no Centro de Artes e Espectáculos da Figueira da Foz, durante o 3º Encontro Anual do Olhares.com;

Fevereiro/2008 - A convite da Associação Para o Desenvolvimento do Mergulho (APDM) / Fórum-Mergulho, apresenta dois diaporamas no dia de abertura da Nauticampo/2008, na FIL, Parque das Nações:

Abril/2008 - A convite da Escola de Mergulho Glauca, realiza uma palestra sobre fotografia subaquática e sobre a problemática da preservação do meio marinho no Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa (ISCTE), em colaboração da respectiva Associação de Estudantes;

Abril/2008 - A convite da APDM - Associação Portuguesa para o Desenvolvimento do Mergulho, apresenta três diaporamas durante a Exposub/ 2008, realizada no Centro de Exposições do Montijo, intitulados:

Outubro/2008 - A convite da Portisub, realiza no Museu de Portimão, um workshop intitulado "Técnicas Utilizadas nas Águas Portuguesas", integrado na Semana da Imagem Subaquática de Portimão;

Junho/2009 - A convite da Câmara Municipal de Peniche integra um exposição fotográfica colectiva intitulada "o mar da berlenga", integrada no X Festival Sabores do Mar;

Julho/2009 - A convite da Associação Amigos do Caster, realiza uma exposição de fotografia subaquática intitulada "Portugal Submerso" realizada no âmbito do evento "Ambiente 2009 Imagens Dispersas", em Ovar;

RUI GUERRA

 

High Competition Athlete, Vice World-Champion of Underwater Photography, World Champion in "Wide Angle with Diver" cathegory and five times National Champion, Rui Guerra was born in Lisbon in December 1968 and soon had become connected to the sea, where he tries to find he’s interior balance and inner peace. As natural consequence of its many family moments spend at the coast line, soon he discovers the passion and the curiosity for the underwater world, witch leads him to start doing free diving and latter, scuba diving.

Photography enters he’s life almost by chance, and at the beginning was nothing more than “showing to the others what he sees underwater”. Maintaining a constant evolution at all levels and deepening he’s knowledge, he starts to broad he’s photographic horizons to other worlds, but with the underwater photography as the central core of he’s activity.  Along he’s career, at a leisure level and also at a competitive level, in national and international competitions, he has won several top places while simultaneously expands and teaches underwater photography in Portugal, by means of courses, workshops and organizing events.  May/2003 – He’s invited by the Chamber of Underwater Activities to be held in the auditorium of Building Portugal, to held a lecture on "Photography in the Blue in Portugal" and a slideshow about the portuguese underwater environment, both integrated in the 9th Festival of Culture of the Sports Group of the Bank of Portugal;

 June/2003 - Performs in Angra do Heroísmo (Terceira Island - Azores), with the painter Isabel Pecante, an exhibition of photography and painting titled "Lot of Sea... and very little land," integrated in the parties Sanjoaninas/2003 with the support of the Delegation of Tourism of the Terceira Island, during which performs various diaporamas;

 July/2003 - Participates with various photographs in the traveling exhibition "Salão do Mar", organized by the Portuguese Federation for Underwater Activities;

 February/2004 - Performs a diaporama entitled "Life and Death in Berlengas" in the offices of Cipreia - Diving School, Lisbon;

 March/2006 - At the invitation of the Department of Informatics, University of Coimbra, and included in the VIII Cultural Week of that University, held a lecture on Underwater Digital Photography, representing the Portuguese Federation for Underwater Activities (FPAS).  At the same time opens an exhibition of underwater photography entitled "Light under the Waves";

 June/2006 - The exhibition "Light under the Waves" is opened in the Exhibition Gallery of the Centro Comercial Dolce Vita in Coimbra, in the Bertrand library;
